Moving horses in Queensland
Restrictions on moving horses
From Monday 30 June 2008 Queensland will be declared free
of equine influenza. All horses in Queensland will then
be able move freely throughout the state without the need
for a waybill. However, Waybills and Travel Permits are
still required if crossing a tick line.
All horses in Queensland can now move freely throughout
the state without the need for a waybill. However, movement
documentation is required if moving across the tick line.
Please be aware that movement of horses is not allowed
where the owner of the horse (which includes the person
in custody or control of the horse) believes or suspects
that the horse is infected with equine influenza (EI).
All horse properties in ALL parts of Queensland must register
the property where their horses are kept. This is a legal
requirement under the Stock Identification Regulation 2005.
